A dialogue about what it means to teach socially engaged arts (both in academia and other community contexts), to encourage cross-feeding amongst those who are doing activist art teaching. These conversations will hopefully cross many boundaries including those of region, class, gender, culture and aesthetic prejudices. We can introduce ourselves to each other by naming the kinds of teaching that we have been doing and how it relates to our individual, collaborative and/or community-based art practices, activism and writing.
