Artist Volunteer Wanted in Central America!

Join ArtCorps and volunteer your creative talents to strengthen sustainable development in Central America in 2010. Through community arts projects, artists educate and inspire people to participate actively in improving the environmental, health, and social conditions in their communities. Every ArtCorps artist works directly with a local non-governmental organization that is an expert in its field. Artists strengthen dialogue between community members and the organization, improve community education and empower local leadership.

Greeting from the American South

Greetings! I am an artist and educator working in North Carolina, USA. I am interested in networking with other activist artists to find ways to expand what we are doing to make the world a better place through our art. I maintain a blog at http://makeartlikeyoucare.blogspot.com and invite artists to join a Facebook group forming with the same goals of networking and mutual help.

Invitation to the Arizona State University Drama Symposium: Ethics and the Representation of Childhood in Performance

Two weeks ago, I was the only Artistic Director invited to be a speaker at “The Jonathan Levy Child Drama Symposium: Ethics and the Representation of Childhood in Performance, Pedagogy and Popular Culture” to be held on the Arizona State University at the Tempe campus March 5-7, 2009. I am really looking forward to discussing the ethics of our work with academics, artists and producers of pop culture. If you have any input into this topic, please feel free to comment.

Where am I?

Hello
I am not too sure where this is going and how this is working and whether there is anybody out (in?) there, but I do want to say "hello" and express my interest in this site and its potential to get good discussion going. First, I'd like to find other people on this site but am not sure how. Secondly, I would like to join in the dialogue but am not sure if there is one!
Over to you.

Community Input: What is your vision for ICASC?

Dear Community,

It was amazing to see how many arts organizations and individuals came together during the November 3rd ICASC event at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. One of our conversation streams was focused on how ICASC could support the local arts and social change communities, and what ideas people had in the room. We didn't have enough time to have a comprehensive group discussion and we missed out on gleaning from the invaluable pool of knowledge in the room.
